Our Trainers

Carl Catani, owner/trainer, has been operating River Wind Farm for over 30 years. A lifelong horseman, he rode Saddlebreds as a child, training with Leo Boyle, an old-school trainer who broke all horses to ride, drive, race and jump. After graduating from Utica College, Catani opened River Wind Farm and entered the hunter/jumper scene. Catani oversees the facility, staff, sale horses, lesson and training programs and show season. Students of River Wind Farm are highly-successful on the “A” rated show circuit. Catani is also recognized for his ability to match horses and riders.

Abigail Greer, professional, is Catani’s co-trainer and business associate. A former student of Catani, Greer started riding at River Wind at the age of eight. After graduating from Babson College, Greer returned to River Wind Farm to become a professional equestrian. In addition to training students, Greer specializes in the Green divisions. She has won numerous championships and reserve championships at prestigious horse shows such as Washington International Horse Show, Pennsylvania National Horse Show and The National Horse Show.
